40 m 4K@60 4:4:4 HDR HDBaseT Extender with Bi-directional IR, RS232 and Two-Way PoC
The TA-HDMIEXT-4K-40 is a point-to-point HDBaseT extender kit (transmitter + receiver) that carries uncompressed HDMI 2.0 video, embedded multi-channel audio, bi-directional IR, RS232 and PoC over a single shielded twisted-pair cable run of up to 40 m at 4K@60Hz 4:4:4. Built around an HDBaseT 1.0 chipset with an integrated chroma sub-sampling (CSC) engine, the unit preserves HDCP 2.2 and full HDR metadata — including HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision (low-latency mode) — end to end, with no visible compression artefacts on certified Cat 6a or Cat 7 cabling.
Designed for ProAV integrators specifying single-cable infrastructure between a 4K source and a remote display, the TA-HDMIEXT-4K-40 transports a full 18 Gbps HDMI 2.0 signal path over a single shielded Cat cable. The transmitter (TX) ingests one HDMI input from any HDCP 2.2-compliant source — UHD Blu-ray players, 4K media servers, digital signage players, PCs with DisplayPort-to-HDMI converters, or matrix switchers — and serialises it onto an HDBaseT link using the bundled CSC engine. At the far end, the receiver (RX) reconstructs the native HDMI 2.0 stream, including embedded audio and HDR metadata, with no perceptible latency penalty.
Reach is engineered around real-world cable plant: 40 m of 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 over Cat 6a/7 and 35 m over Cat 5e/6, with extended 1080p reach to 70 m (Cat 6a/7) or 60 m (Cat 5e/6). EDID is handled automatically — the extender copies the EDID from the connected display so sources negotiate a supported timing without manual intervention. Bi-directional IR and RS232 pass-through let installers preserve full control fidelity for AV automation systems, and two-way PoC means a single 18 V DC adapter at either end powers the full link — eliminating one rack outlet and simplifying display-side deployments.
The compact SGCC steel chassis (136.4 × 74.2 × 15.2 mm) ships with mounting brackets for under-table, behind-display, lectern, podium or rack-shelf installations. Status is exposed at a glance via four green LEDs (Power, Link, HDCP, Status), so commissioning and field diagnostics do not require additional test gear.
End-to-end HDMI 2.0 link at up to 18 Gbps, supporting 3840×2160 and 4096×2160 at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and 8-bit colour depth. Compatible with 1080p, 1080i and a full range of VESA computer resolutions, including 1920×1200 @ 60 Hz.
Static and dynamic HDR formats are passed unchanged: HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision is supported in low-latency mode with fully automatic EDID handling, ensuring the source negotiates the correct HDR profile for the connected display.
4K@60 4:4:4 up to 40 m over Cat 6a/7, 35 m over Cat 5e/6. 1080p reach extends to 70 m (Cat 6a/7) or 60 m (Cat 5e/6). Built on HDBaseT 1.0 transport with the CSC solution, on a single shielded twisted-pair cable.
Forward and reverse IR is tunnelled inside the HDBaseT link via 3.5 mm TRS jacks. Use the supplied IR emitter / receiver pair (30 kHz – 50 kHz) to control a remote source from the display side, or vice-versa, without an additional control cable.
A 3-pin 3.5 mm Phoenix connector at each end provides transparent RS232 pass-through — ideal for control-system integration with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Q-SYS and similar platforms, or for direct display / projector trigger commands.
The bundled 18 V / 1 A locking adapter can be connected at either the TX or the RX side; the other unit is powered through the Cat cable. Useful when the display location lacks a free outlet, or when the source is housed in a remote rack.
EDID is copied from the HDMI output and applied to the source side, so the connected source always negotiates a timing the display can render. No manual EDID profiles or DIP-switches are required.
Full HDMI 2.0 audio is preserved end-to-end: PCM 2.0 / 5.1 / 7.1, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X.
Four green status LEDs — Power, Link, HDCP, Status — give installers an immediate read of link health, HDCP authentication and source presence during commissioning and ongoing service.
• HDMI 2.0 with 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 8-bit, HDCP 2.2 compliant (CSC solution).
• Full HDR support — HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision (low-latency mode).
• Bi-directional IR pass-through over HDBaseT (3.5 mm TRS).
• Bi-directional RS232 pass-through (3-pin 3.5 mm Phoenix).
• Two-way Power-over-Cable (PoC) — a single 18 V DC adapter at TX or RX powers both ends.
• Fully automatic EDID handling; EDID copy from HDMI output.
• Front-panel status LEDs: Power, Link, HDCP, Status (all green).
• Compact metal SGCC enclosure with mounting brackets included
