    TA-HDMIEXT-4K-70

    70 m 4K@60 4:4:4 HDR HDBaseT Extender with Bi-directional IR, RS232 and Two-Way PoC

The TA-HDMIEXT-4K-70 is the long-reach member of the EX0101 HDBaseT extender family, designed for installations where source and display are separated by up to 70 m at 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 on Cat 6a/7 cabling. It carries uncompressed HDMI 2.0 video, embedded multi-channel audio, bi-directional IR, RS232 and PoC over a single shielded twisted-pair run, with full HDCP 2.2 and HDR support — HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision (low-latency mode).

    Detailed Description

The TA-HDMIEXT-4K-70 is a point-to-point Tx + Rx kit built for larger-format ProAV deployments — lecture theatres, command-and-control rooms, video walls, auditoriums and digital signage backbones — where the typical 40 m HDBaseT 1.0 reach is not enough. The transmitter accepts a single HDMI 2.0 source at up to 18 Gbps and serialises it onto an HDBaseT link engineered for extended reach; the receiver reconstructs the native HDMI stream, including embedded audio and HDR metadata, with no perceptible added latency.

Cabling targets are aligned with structured-wiring practice: 70 m of 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 over Cat 6a/7, 60 m over Cat 5e/6, with 1080p reach up to 100 m (Cat 6a/7) or 90 m (Cat 5e/6).¹ EDID is handled automatically via copy-from-output, so any HDCP 2.2-compliant source — UHD media servers, signage players, set-top boxes, PCs or matrix switchers — negotiates a timing the connected display can render, without DIP-switches or manual profiles.

Bi-directional IR and RS232 pass-through are tunnelled inside the HDBaseT link, preserving full control fidelity for AV automation platforms (Crestron, Extron, AMX, Q-SYS and similar). Two-way PoC means a single 18 V locking adapter at either end powers both the TX and RX — a meaningful advantage over longer cable runs where the display location is power-constrained or hard to reach. The compact SGCC steel chassis (136.4 × 74.2 × 15.2 mm) ships with mounting brackets for under-table, behind-display, lectern, podium or rack-shelf installations, and four green status LEDs (Power, Link, HDCP, Status) provide at-a-glance commissioning and diagnostics.

    • 70 m of true 4K@60 4:4:4. Long-reach HDBaseT transport — preserves text clarity, gradients and HDR detail at distance.
    • HDCP 2.2 protected path. Full compatibility with 4K UHD streaming, Blu-ray and protected media servers.
    • Single-cable infrastructure. Video, audio, IR, RS232 and power on one shielded Cat run.
    • Two-way PoC. One 18 V adapter, either end — simplifies extended-distance display installs.
    • Plug-and-play EDID. Automatic copy from HDMI output. No DIP-switches, no learning steps.

    HDMI 2.0 with full 4K@60 4:4:4 support

End-to-end HDMI 2.0 link at up to 18 Gbps, supporting 3840×2160 and 4096×2160 at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and 8-bit colour depth. Compatible with 1080p, 1080i and a full range of VESA computer resolutions, including 1920×1200 @ 60 Hz.

    Comprehensive HDR support

Static and dynamic HDR formats are passed unchanged: HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision is supported in low-latency mode with fully automatic EDID handling, ensuring the source negotiates the correct HDR profile for the connected display.

    Long-reach HDBaseT transmission

4K@60 4:4:4 up to 70 m over Cat 6a/7, 60 m over Cat 5e/6. 1080p reach extends to 100 m (Cat 6a/7) or 90 m (Cat 5e/6).¹ Suited to structured-cabling runs typical of larger meeting rooms, auditoriums and signage backbones.

    Bi-directional IR pass-through

Forward and reverse IR is tunnelled inside the HDBaseT link via 3.5 mm TRS jacks. Use the supplied IR emitter / receiver pair (30 kHz – 50 kHz) to control a remote source from the display side, or vice-versa, without an additional control cable.

    Bi-directional RS232 control

A 3-pin 3.5 mm Phoenix connector at each end provides transparent RS232 pass-through — ideal for control-system integration with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Q-SYS and similar platforms, or for direct display / projector trigger commands.

    Two-way Power-over-Cable (PoC)

The bundled 18 V / 1 A locking adapter can be connected at either the TX or the RX side; the other unit is powered through the Cat cable. Particularly valuable on long runs where the display location is power-constrained or behind finished ceilings.

    Automatic EDID management

EDID is copied from the HDMI output and applied to the source side, so the connected source always negotiates a timing the display can render. No manual EDID profiles or DIP-switches are required.

    Embedded multi-channel audio

    Full HDMI 2.0 audio is preserved end-to-end: PCM 2.0 / 5.1 / 7.1, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X.

    At-a-glance diagnostics

Four green status LEDs — Power, Link, HDCP, Status — give installers an immediate read of link health, HDCP authentication and source presence during commissioning and ongoing service.
